80-1 Penland / Cooper Cemetery 34.03 meters of fence accounting for 0.02 acres. 50m N of Buxton Rd., 600m W of Bldg 8012. Located off West Buxton Road, across from the water treatment plant, west of the Harris House, and east of Shields Road. Upon turning into the driveway of the House, go left when the driveway "Y"'s. The cemetery is on the left before the gravel road starts to curve and is located in a pine stand. It is visible from the gravel road. Sheet 14 on the Redstone Arsenal Basic Informational Maps. Chain Link, Fence is in GOOD condition. The cemetery has one marker but it has no visible inscription. The fence is in good shape. Redstone map calls it "Penland / Cooper". Other documents have it as "Penland Cooper". One of the Intern Records lists it as "Cooper Cemetery"

Sheet 16 on the Redstone Arsenal Basic Informational Maps. Chain Link, Fence is in GOOD condition. No headstones or markers at this site. The marker at this site identifies the Cemetery as "New Mt. Hope Cemetery"

There are a few markers / headstones located at this site.

Sheet 16 on the Redstone Arsenal Basic Informational Maps. Fence is Old Chain Link and in GOOD condition. There are a few headstones / markers present on this site. The gate on the fence will not latch and is relatively hard to open, therefore, the gate swinging open is of little or no concern.

There is a separate fenced / walled area in the interior of the cemetery with all the headstones / markers located inside the interior fencing.
